Fuel Quantity (L/R) -> Check
Master Switch -> Off
Exterior Walkaround -> Complete
Fuel Caps -> Secure
Fuel Sumps (L/R + Gascolator) -> Drained, No Contamination
Engine Oil -> 7-8 qts
Cowling Fasteners -> Secure
Pitot / Static / AOA -> Covers Removed
Tires & Brakes -> Inspect
Canopy / Doors -> Seals Clean, Hinges Secure
## Before Engine Start
Passenger Briefing -> Complete
Seats & Harnesses -> Adjusted, Fastened
Doors -> Closed, Latched
WARNING: VERIFY CABIN DOOR LATCH PINS FULLY ENGAGED
Circuit Breakers -> In
Avionics Master -> Off
Fuel Selector -> Fullest Tank (Left or Right, not Both)
Mixture -> Idle Cutoff
Throttle -> Closed
Propeller -> Full Forward
Master Switch -> On
Beacon -> On
## Engine Start
Boost Pump -> On for 3-5 sec to prime, then Off
Mixture -> Rich until flow indication, then Idle Cutoff
Throttle -> 1/4 Open
Propeller Area -> Clear
Ignition -> Start
Mixture -> Advance Smoothly to Rich
Throttle -> 1000 RPM
Oil Pressure -> Green within 30 sec (SHUTDOWN if not)
Alternator -> On, Check Charging
Avionics Master -> On
## Before Taxi
Flight Instruments -> Set
Altimeter -> Field Elevation
Heading / HSI -> Aligned
Flaps -> Up
Radios & Transponder -> Set
Taxi Clearance -> Obtained
## Runup
Parking Brake -> Set
Flight Controls -> Free & Correct
Fuel Selector -> Fullest Tank
Mixture -> Rich
Throttle -> 1700 RPM
Magnetos -> Check (max 175 drop / 50 diff)
Propeller -> Cycle 1-2 times, recover above 1700 RPM
Engine Gauges -> Green
Alternator Load -> Positive
Throttle -> Idle Check
Throttle -> Set 1000 RPM
## Before Takeoff
Doors -> Latched, Pins Visible
Harnesses -> Tight
Transponder -> ALT
Flaps -> Takeoff Setting (per POH)
Trim -> Takeoff
Boost Pump -> On
Mixture -> Rich
Lights -> Set
Departure Briefing -> Complete
WARNING: FINAL FLIGHT CONTROL CHECK
## Takeoff (Normal)
Throttle -> Full Smoothly
Engine Gauges -> Green, MP Normal
Airspeed -> Rotate at 60 KIAS
Vy Climb -> 100 KIAS
Positive Rate -> Flaps Up
Boost Pump -> Off (above 1000 AGL)
## Climb
Power -> Full or 25/25 (MP/RPM)
Airspeed -> 110-120 KIAS (cruise climb)
Mixture -> Lean above 3000 ft per EGT
CHT -> Monitor, keep below 400°F
## Cruise
Power -> 65-75% (22-24 in MP / 2300-2500 RPM)
Mixture -> Lean of Peak or Best Economy
Engine Instruments -> Monitor
Fuel -> Switch Tanks every 30 min to balance
## Descent
Altimeter -> Set
Mixture -> Enrich As Needed
Power -> Reduce gradually (avoid shock cooling)
Seat Belts -> Fastened
## Before Landing
Fuel Selector -> Fullest Tank
Boost Pump -> On
Mixture -> Rich
Propeller -> Full Forward
Harnesses -> Tight
Landing Light -> On
Airspeed -> 80 KIAS (final)
Flaps -> Full
Trim -> Set
## After Landing
Flaps -> Up
Boost Pump -> Off
Transponder -> Standby
Landing Light -> Off
## Shutdown
Parking Brake -> Set
Avionics Master -> Off
Electrical Load -> Off
Mixture -> Idle Cutoff
Ignition -> Off, Key Out
Master Switch -> Off
Canopy/Doors -> Secured, Cover Installed

## Engine Failure After Takeoff
CAUTION: DO NOT TURN BACK BELOW 800 AGL
Airspeed -> 80 KIAS (Best Glide)
Fuel Selector -> Off
Mixture -> Idle Cutoff
Ignition -> Off
Master Switch -> Off (before touchdown)
Flaps -> As Required
Land -> Straight Ahead
## Engine Failure In Flight
Airspeed -> 80 KIAS (Best Glide)
Field -> Select
Fuel Selector -> Other Tank
Boost Pump -> On
Mixture -> Rich
Ignition -> Both
If No Restart -> Secure Engine and Land
## Engine Fire In Flight
Fuel Selector -> Off
Mixture -> Idle Cutoff
Throttle -> Closed
Master Switch -> Off
Cabin Vents -> Closed
Airspeed -> Increase to blow out fire
Land -> As Soon As Possible
## Cabin Door Open In Flight
CAUTION: FLY THE AIRPLANE - NOISE ONLY, NOT DANGEROUS
Airspeed -> Reduce to 90 KIAS
Door -> Attempt to Close & Latch
Land -> As Soon As Practical if unable
## Electrical Fire / Smoke
Master Switch -> Off
All Electrical -> Off
Cabin Vents -> Open
Fire Extinguisher -> Use if Needed
Land -> As Soon As Practical
