Important: aviation safety

checklistace.com is a tool for editing Garmin .ace checklist files. It is not a substitute for the aircraft's Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH), Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), or any official Garmin documentation.

If anything in a checklist produced with this tool conflicts with the POH/AFM, the POH/AFM is authoritative.

No warranty

The Service (this website, the editor, the in-browser preview, the CLI library, and any sample data) is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. No warranty is made that the Service will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that any output will be compatible with any specific Garmin device or aircraft installation. No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from the Service creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the operator of checklistace.com be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including without limitation damages for loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, personal injury, property damage, or any other losses — arising out of or in connection with:

even if the operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages. You assume all risk and responsibility for the use of the Service and its output.

The Service is not intended for use as a primary in-flight safety reference, navigation system, ATC tool, or life-support equipment. The Service may have errors, omissions, or compatibility issues with any specific Garmin device, aircraft, or operational context, and shall not be relied upon for any decision or action where failure could result in personal injury, property damage, or loss of life.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of the operator for any claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid to use the Service (which, as the Service is free, is zero) or, at the operator's option, to re-supplying the Service to you.

It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries. The .ace file format support in this tool is derived from publicly available files.

Data handling

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to disrupt or attack the Service, to scrape it with automated systems beyond the published rate limits, or to bypass any security measures.

Your content

You retain all rights to checklist content you upload, edit, or download. By using the Service, you grant the operator only the temporary, automated processing rights necessary to perform the encoding/decoding operation you have requested.

Feedback

If you submit feedback, comments, ideas, or suggestions about the Service (for example, via the Feedback form), you grant the operator a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, including incorporating it into the Service, without obligation to you. Your feedback is treated as non-confidential.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operator of checklistace.com from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including but not limited to attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Service; (b) your violation of any term of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right.

Termination

The operator may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to abuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or repeated failure to comply with published rate limits.

Changes to these Terms

The operator may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the effective date of the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Service that cannot first be informally resolved between you and the operator shall be submitted to the federal or state courts located in the State of Colorado.
